How about working for a company that does something that actually fits the cliche "cutting edge"?! Now this will only suit a select few - the sort of person who grew up thinking Meccano was cool. Or that making your door open with a servo was fun. Or hooking up the van der graaf to the door knob... you get my drift. True out-and-out techies. And no, I did not say Trekkies - although the relationship seems to be there. Now, in true edgy style - this job is NOT a Microsoft vanilla Development Manager role. This is the role that the anti-web would apply to. Well, maybe not so anarchic. At least someone who thinks web interaction should be secure, and open source. Okay - enough of the bull. Want to run a development environment that incorporates software and hardware systems? A good analogy would be making software that runs your cappuccino machine, and then designing the cappuccino machine - NOT Cyberdyne - more real world systems and useful. And the kicker? You need to be comfortable working on penguin-suit operating systems. And in old school C++, I just KNEW that stuff would come back. So if you fit into this left-field category, come and talk about a left-field opp. Oh, and by the way, that salary range is TOTALLY negotiable.
